Playing craps at home is as entertaining as playing craps at the casino if you have your own table and some friends to play with. Purchasing a craps table can be expensive, but building your own is comparatively cheap and easy. This is especially true if you have a pool table or tall table that can be converted into a craps table.
Instructions
- 1
Measure your felt craps table layout.
2Cut a piece of plywood to the dimensions of the layout. Use a power saw or hand saw.
3Take another two pieces of plywood and cut them so that the length of the pieces is the same as the length of the piece that was cut to the dimensions of the layout.
4Take another two pieces of plywood and cut them so that the length of these pieces is the same as the width of the piece cut to the dimensions of the layout. The pieces from Steps 3 and 4 will be the sides of the craps table.
5Cut the pieces from Steps 3 and 4 so their width is 2 feet.
6Glue the felt craps table layout to the piece of plywood you cut to fit its dimensions. This will be the bottom of the craps table
7Take felt of the same color as the craps table layout and cut four pieces to fit the sides of the table--2 feet by whatever the length of the layout is and 2 feet by whatever the width of the layout is.
8Glue the four pieces of felt cut in Step 7 to the four sides of the craps table.
9Use a staple gun to staple one of the sides of the craps table that matches the length of the layout to the bottom of the craps table lengthwise.
10Repeat Step 9 with the other side of the craps table that matches the length of the layout.
11Staple one of the sides of the craps table that matches the width of the layout to the bottom of the craps table width-wise. Staple each of the length-wise sides to this width-wise side as well.
12Repeat Step 11 with the other side of the craps table that matches the width of the layout.
13Use sandpaper to smooth all the edges of the craps table.
14Use wood stain finish or paint to finish the craps table. Allow the stain, or paint, time to dry.
15Put the craps table on top of a tall table or inside a pool table.
