How to Change a Table Topper

How to Change a Table Topper

Table toppers add sophistication and elegance to a table and an added level of protection from spills. These table coverings come in different shapes, like round or square, and come in a variety of materials. Whether dressing up a living room end table or a corner tableau in a guest room, table toppers are an attractive addition to any area. Change your table topper frequently to prevent stains from setting into the fabric or to change the look of the table. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Remove all the items from your tabletop before changing the top cloth. Unplug any electrical equipment like lamps or alarm clocks. Remove the appliances and set them to the side.

    2

Wrap breakables like porcelain figurines in bathroom towels or tissue paper and set them on a couch or somewhere safe.

    3

Remove the table topper from the table. Examine the tablecloth underneath. If you see stains or dust accumulation, launder the tablecloth. Alternatively, you could have the tablecloth dry cleaned if made from a material that should not be machine washed, like taffeta.

    4

Put a fresh table topper on the table. Shake out the table topper or table runner. Center the fabric over the table so that all the edges of the cloth hang equally from all sides of the table.

    5

Place the figurines and the electrical appliances back to the tabletop. Arrange them as before, or try a new arrangement.
