Attaching a changing table to the top of a crib provides a convenient location for changing your baby while saving you space in the nursery that would otherwise be taken up by a freestanding table. The tables are made for sturdy but temporary placement, with adjustable mounts that make removal and replacement a quick and simple process. All thats required is a hex key of the appropriate size. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
- 1
Locate the two hex screws on the top of the existing changing table that runs through the sliding adjustment mounting slots.
2Fit the provided hex key or a key that fits from a hexadecimal set into the top of the screw. Loosen the screws enough to be able to move the mounting rail that the screws hold in place. Push the rail towards the center of the changing table and away from the rail along the edge of the crib.
3Unsnap the two safety straps running through the strap slots in the table and around the top two side crib rails.
4Pull the straps from the slots in the table and through the slats of the crib rail to remove the straps. Pull the changing table from the top of the crib.
5Attach the mounting rails to the base of the replacement changing table using two mounting hex screws through the mounting holes at the sides of the table and into the mounting rails. Tighten the two screws holding the stationary rail in place while leaving the two screws running through the slotted mounting holes loose enough that the rail they hold can slide back and forth beneath the slots.
6Remove the protective backing paper from the rubber bumpers and place a bumper on the outside surface of each of the mounting rails. This is the surface that will be against your crib rails. The bumpers prevent the changing table from damaging the crib surface.
7Set the changing table onto the top of the crib with the mounting rails within the crib interior. Position the stationary rail against one of the crib rails. Slide the adjustable rail against the rail on the other side of the crib. Tighten the hex screws holding the adjustable rail in position with the hex key.
8Run the two safety straps through the slat hole directly beneath the strap slots of the changing table, then up through the slots so that the rail of the crib is encompassed by the strap. Lock the buckle of the strap closed on top of the changing table to prevent the table from moving.
9Set the changing pad into the table frame over the straps to complete the replacement.
